In celebration of April being Scottish-American Heritage Month the Alaskan Scottish Club is taking over the Bear Tooth for a showing of the award-winning film, Braveheart! Join us, April 2nd! Doors at 11 am, show at 11:30 am. There will be plenty of good ol’ Scottish fun for everyone! Throw on a Kilt and come dressed as a Freedom fighting Scot and be entered into a special door prize contest. Enter the “Freedom” call or Best Warrior Face Paint contests for a chance to win free tickets to The Alaska Scottish Highland Games on June 24 &25, 2023. There will also be some Historical Fact checking of this popular film. This event will assist the ASC by raising funds for future events and a scholarship fund.
Since 1973, the Alaskan Scottish Club, a non-profit organization, has been celebrating and sharing the Scottish culture, heritage, and teachings to the people of Alaska. Their Education Assistance Program, encourages and assists interested applicants in the study of Scottish lore and traditions by awarding Scholarships.
William Wallace is the medieval Scottish patriot who is spurred into revolt against the English when the love of his life is slaughtered.
